I don’t write much on this blog anymore and for that I apologize. I will try to do more of it this year but for now please enjoy these few words about my world…
It was her last day of being 4. How did it get here so fast. On this slightly sad dreary day I decided to take my sweet girl to the city, a place I frequent with other clients but rarely with my own mini so this was a special treat. She knows of the city but since we live in “the burbs” it’s known simply as the place we go when seeing Disney on Ice. To her it’s a somewhat majical place.
It was a crisp cool, windy April day but she put on a brave face as we explored her new playground. For 60 inreplaceable minutes we talked, we played, we ran around and I slowly and purposefully snapped aways while desperately trying to soak it all in. She was so happy to just be outside and to have free reign. First the Stone Arch and then the Walker it really didn’t matter to either of us where we ended up we just enjoyed the moment. This session was never meant to last a long time but rather just to catch a quick glipse on this amazing little person she has morphed into.
I am not sure exactly where time goes once you become a parent. But somewhere in between newborn onesies and kindergarten registration my tiny 6.5 ounce baby turned into a confident, funny, sassy, outspoken but genuinely sensitive girl. It reminds me to slow down, to take a deep breath and to soak this all in. I’ve become more aware of how valuable my time is and how I want to spend it.
My original goal was to document just a few of these moments with the hopes that I could hold on to them forever. This time, this person, I want to remember her as she is right now because I can’t imagine loving her any more than I do today. This fiesty, headstrong, caring, sporty individual is my very own. Happy 5th Birthday to my sweet, sweet girl! These years have been better than I ever could have imagined.
Goodbye 4, I think I miss you already
